LOGLINE: A coming of age story about a 60 year old retiree chasing her dream of becoming an actress at an age when society treats her as invisible and past her usefulness.
SYNOPSIS: Chloe Flootz is finally retiring to follow her dream of becoming an actress. After a speed-casting-director-workshop, she lands an audition and books a oneline co-star on OUTSKIRTS OF DETROIT! Tud, Chloe’s husband, supports her no matter what. Problem is, he’s planning a surprise 38th anniversary party the same evening Chloe’s episode airs. Tud decides to surprise Chloe by showing her TV show at the Anniversary party. Chloe’s frenemy, middle aged action star, Penelope, attends the bash. Embarrassed by the total lack of screen time she gets, Chloe is crushed. She drinks too much, sings bad karaoke, and brawls with Penelope. Chloe’s beset with regret and apologizes to her frenemy, but Penelope doesn’t forgive her yet. Will Chloe’s dream of becoming a star, come true? Will Tud and Chloe’s marriage last? Will Chloe give up her dream and decide it’s hopeless to pursue acting this late in the game?
